Is the location good for skiing with kids?
Yes — the location is excellent for skiing with children of all ages and abilities.
Baita Mirabel is located in the heart of the Cervino Ski Paradise, one of Europe’s largest and highest alpine ski areas.
The area is especially well suited for families thanks to wide, well‑groomed slopes and a strong focus on beginner and intermediate skiers.
There are several highly regarded ski schools nearby, with instructors experienced in teaching young children, beginners, and teenagers. Both group and private lessons are available, making it easy for parents and children to ski at their own pace.
High‑quality ski and snowboard rental shops are conveniently located, allowing families to rent, exchange, or upgrade equipment easily — particularly useful when skiing with children. Ski equipment may also be stored in lockers (or even heated lockers) next to the Gondola.
Families can also choose from a variety of ski pass options depending on budget and skiing goals:
• Local area passes, ideal for beginners and younger children
• Mid‑range passes covering all of the Italian Cervino Ski Paradise
• Full international passes allowing skiing across the Italian–Swiss border into Zermatt
This flexibility allows families to control costs while still enjoying world‑class skiing.
In addition to skiing, the area offers snow parks, sledding, winter walks, scenic cable cars, and mountain restaurants — ensuring a varied and enjoyable winter holiday for skiers and non‑skiers alike.
What can families do in the summer?
In summer, families can enjoy hiking, mountain lakes, mountain biking, cable cars, cycling paths, wildlife spotting, alpine playgrounds, and outdoor adventures.
Less than 15 minutes away is a wonderful rope (adventure) park where children of all ages can spend hours climbing in a safe, challenging, and fun environment.
There are also opportunities for horseback riding in the valley.
Do we need a car?
A car is highly recommended for maximum flexibility, especially when traveling with children. It allows easy access to ski areas, hiking trailheads, supermarkets, and nearby villages.
Please note that in winter, local regulations require all cars in the Aosta Valley to carry snow chains.
Is the apartment close to shops and restaurants?
Yes. Shops, bakeries, restaurants, and essential services are available within a short drive.
The location combines everyday convenience with a peaceful mountain setting.
Is Baita Mirabel suitable for non‑skiers?
Absolutely. The area offers many winter activities beyond skiing, including snowshoeing, sledding, scenic walks, and cable car rides.
For children who prefer not to ski — or for whom half a day on the slopes is enough — there is a fun park at the top of the gondola with rides and activities.
What ages are best suited for this location?
Families with children from toddler age through teenagers enjoy the area.
Younger children benefit from gentle slopes and outdoor play areas, while older children and teenagers enjoy skiing, biking, and adventure activities.
Is the apartment suitable for longer stays?

The apartment includes a full kitchen, including a dishwasher, as well as an integrated washer-dryer - all necessities for a relaxing family vacation.
A variety of puzzles and games make it easy to enjoy quality time together at Mirabel.
What makes the Aosta Valley a good family destination?

Compared to other European ski resorts, it is less crowded, more approachable, and particularly family‑friendly.
When is the best time to visit?
Winter is ideal for skiing and snow activities, typically from November through late April. The Cervino Ski Paradise “Never Ending Season” uniquely has winter skiing passes annually from late October through early May.
Summer is perfect for hiking and outdoor holidays, with many gondolas and chairlifts operating in summer mode from May through the end of August. During the summer months, families also have the unique opportunity to ski on the glacier at the top of the mountain.
